Business Development Coordinator

The Business Development Coordinator is a an exciting opportunity for you to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit sector. Candidates should be driven and independent self starter with a passion for Connections to Success’ mission. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the marketing initiatives for Business Development, managing and analyzing data to inform decision-making, and contributing to business development efforts. Connections to Success inspires families to realize their dreams and achieve economic independence by providing hope, resources, and a plan. Within Connections to Success the Business Development Department trains organizations in other cities to implement our evidence-based Pathways to Success Program to grow impact and unrestricted funding for the organization. The Business Development Coordinator will be based in our St. Charles office.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and execute the business development strategy • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of membership operations
  • Support and design and implement a customized CRM system tailored to the organization's specific needs and objectives
  • Track and manage leads generated and identify potential clients through various channels, including networking events, referrals, and online research
  • Implement efficient strategies to track and collect relevant data from various sources, including customer interactions, market trends, and partnership activities
  • Implement approved marketing strategies that align with our organization’s objectives and target audience's needs • Produce engaging content that reflects our mission and values, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, and promotional materials • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing efforts, using data to inform future strategies
  • Stay informed on market trends and best practices in not-for-profit marketing to continuously improve our strategies
  • Oversee the payment of membership subscriptions and renewal of contracts
  • Coordinate and oversee the fulfillment of membership orders, including welcome kits, access credentials, and any associated materials
  • Implement changes and enhancements to optimize the overall member experience.
  • Maintain and update member information in the database, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Provide technical support to users experiencing issues with the LMS
  • Nurture current leads and support the solicitation of new leads for membership sites
  • Upload, organize, and manage learning content within the LMS, including courses, assessments, and multimedia materials
  • Ensure content is current, accurate, and aligned with organizational learning objectives
  • Support fidelity compliance process
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for expansion
  • Any other duties that may be required

Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited educational institution or 4 years’ experience working in related field
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably in a not-for-profit or related sector
  • Interpersonal skills, including an ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds and facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to produce compelling content.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing software, and content management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with all team members to maintain solution-focused and high quality services are provided at all times
  • Public speaking experience is a plus but not required • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer, telephone, voicemail, photocopier.

  • Reports to: VP of Community and Impact
  • Internal Relationships: All Staff, Volunteers, Mentors, Participants, Board of Directors
  • External Relationships: Membership Sites, Marketing Agencies, Potential Volunteers, Participants, and other Stakeholders

Additional Information: This position is full-time, salaried exempt position. Employee will be eligible for full benefits including health, retirement, and vacation benefits on the first of the month following hire date. We invite potential candidates with incarceration/ criminal justice system history to apply.

Starting Salary Range:
$50,000 – 52,000, contingent on qualifications and experience
